Never Underestimate the Difference You Can Make:
Positivity Within the Classroom-
When life is difficult, when pressures within your campus/classroom are at an all time high, when home life gives its own demands on TOP of it all…..it’s difficult to be positive. Regardless: Never Underestimate the Difference You Can Make.
HOWEVER,
Your students don’t have control over YOUR attitude, circumstances, or the hand of cards you were dealt each day. They are dealing with pressures and circumstances in their own lives. They want attent
ion, love, and POSITIVITY from you.
Who is there for them more than half of the time they are awake each day? YOU
When they are struggling academically or with their circle of friends, who is there for them? YOU
When they fall on the playground and scrape their knee? YOU
Who is there for them teaching them ALL th
e things from SEL traits to all academic subjects? YOU
Sometimes, we may be the only person he/she gets a smile or a positive affirmation from that day.
This is when the “Never underestimate the difference you can make: Positivity within the Classroom” comes into play.
Positive Office Referrals and Star Student Forms:
One of my newest resources is “Positive Office Referrals”. They come in black and white, colored, and DIGITAL versions.
The point of the positive office referrals is to take advantage of ALL student’s behavior and over the top positive deeds that they may do. It gives the opportunity for the child you choose that day to be recognized by not only their teacher, but someone in administration or the counselor as well!
The form gives the opportunity for the teacher to check off any of the positive attributes/actions that the child participated in, a teacher comment section, and an administrator’s comment section as well.
**This is the PERFECT way to give an extra much-needed boost to certain students who seem to be in the cycle of making bad choices or undesirable behavior.**
OR
**The ideal opportunity to give one of the student’s who get over-looked or fly under the radar due to NEVER causing any problems and ALWAYS following directions during the school day.
Star Student forms:
The next part of my newest resource is “STAR Student” forms. They come in black and white, colored, and DIGITAL versions. They even come in 2 different templates of a SPANISH version.
These forms are given out as much or as little as the teacher chooses. It is a quick note to send home to give positive recognition to your students.
I think we can all agree that sometimes the TECH world taking over takes away from good ‘ole mail or hardcopy notes home from a teacher. An email is the new “norm”, so these forms are SUPER to incorporate something new.
