I am the passionate owner of The Bright Cookie, where we create standards-based, engaging classroom activities and customized resources for educators and authors alike.

In my experience, students learn best (and teachers teach the happiest) when learning is interactive, challenging, and creative.

  I have diverse and extensive experience, spanning 21 years of teaching in Title I and affluent schools. This breadth of experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the unique needs of students across the educational spectrum, and a full understanding of CC and TEKS state standards. I am ESL and GT certified, hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and have undergone numerous digital and curriculum training sessions.  

  My priority focuses on the WHOLE child and targeting state curriculum frameworks and standards to help empower teachers to have creativity, fun, and diversity in their classrooms.

  Each resource is meticulously designed not just to be educational, but also engaging and fun. They incorporate cross-curricular components, SEL (social-emotional learning) aspects, creative writing, academic concepts, creative/art opportunities, and more, ensuring an interactive learning experience.

  For those seeking to incorporate digital elements into their lessons, there is an “add-on” option for digital integration through platforms like Google Classroom. This feature allows teachers to seamlessly blend digital components into their lessons, enhancing the learning experience. 

   Learning can be memorable for all students. The more engaged students are in lessons, the more they will retain the material taught.

On another note, I married the love of my life in December 2022. I have one biological son, Griffin, and two stepsons, Thadd and Cael. Moose, my 4 lb. teacup Maltipoo, is my little companion. Life is busy, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
